Mine Land Reclamation: Revegetation and Landform Design
Learn comprehensive monitoring strategies for assessment of mine land reclamation! The course will provide a background on landform design and erosion control strategies, variability of capping materials and potential impacts on plant growth, soil processes and subsurface biogeochemistry, and characterization of revegetation as a reclamation strategy. The course will discuss methods and techniques for monitoring surface and subsurface properties and revegetation success and enumerate challenges that lead to reclamation failures.
